Perfectly imperfect candles

Every Recycled Wax candle is made by hand, and when you’re working with recycled materials, no two batches are ever quite the same.

Sometimes, during the process of recycling wax, pouring, finishing, labelling and photographing our candles, little imperfections appear. A dent here, a scrape there, a slightly wonky line, a colour that didn’t quite come out as planned.

Rather than marking those candles for the bin, we’re proud to offer them as Seconds.

It fits perfectly with everything we believe in. We started Recycled Wax to keep useful materials in circulation and give old candles a second life, so it would make very little sense for us to waste a perfectly good candle just because it isn’t quite perfect.

The candles listed below are all seconds and will vary from the product photographs shown. The listing image shows the intended finished product, but the candle you receive will have one or more cosmetic imperfections.

That might mean a dent, scrape, mark or wonky edge. It could have a damaged or slightly crooked label, be a photography or display sample, have some sun discolouration, or simply be a different shade from the one pictured. Sometimes the recycled wax itself creates unexpected colours, textures or finishes as each batch is a little different.

In other words, your candle probably won’t look exactly like the photograph, but that is precisely why it is here.

They may be imperfect, but they are still made with the same care, materials and candle-making experience as the rest of our range, and we think they deserve a home just as much as the perfect ones do.

So, in the spirit of wasting as little as possible, here are our currently available Seconds.

Start with a Mystery Box

Our Mystery Boxes are the first stop for our seconds. Each one is packed with a changing mix of perfectly imperfect candles, along with occasional limited editions, first looks at new products, photography samples, experiments and other surprises, all offered at around 50% off their usual value.

It’s our first step in keeping these candles in circulation and finding them a home rather than letting anything go to waste.
